Design

Finish
Micralox - Lamson’s Micralox finish is as hard as Type III Anodizing and features 20 times the protection against saltwater corrosion. The Micralox finish shields the reel and provides an aesthetically appealing look to the Cobalt. Materials
6061 Aluminum, Titanium, Stainless Steel - The construction of the Cobalt utilizes machined aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel to create a reel with incredible strength and durability. Lamson has found a way to combine these three materials seamlessly to create a reel that features best-in-class construction without adding unnecessary weight.
Drag
Type - A sealed carbon conical drag makes the Cobalt an absolute beast in saltwater. The drag system is protected from any water-causing corrosion and is strong enough to stop the largest saltwater foe. A conical system keeps the Cobalt ultra-lightweight without sacrificing performance or strength.
Materials - Self-lubricating O-rings protect the drag system on the Cobalt and a fixed spindle ensures watertight sealing up to 100 feet. The drag system rotates on ABEC 5 ceramic ball bearings and utilizes a high-temp graphite alloy to increase torque. This drag system is one of the best in the business.
